About Life-Direction.com

Life-Direction.com is the responsibility of Dr. David M. Pittle, Ph.D., M.Div. I do not censor any ideas that appear or will appear here on this website--though I may comment or critique them. Therefore anyone who applies any ideas that come from this site, does so at their own responsibility and risk.

Based on years of helping many people of all ages and life situations, I have found some common themes that apply to most people. On the other hand, I am aware that that knowledge of psychology, spirituality and sociology continues to increase. Ideas that once seemed correct are later discovered to need modification. Nothing is absolutely certain and even less is known. Orthodox ideas have been found wrong so often that we can't accept any information as absolute.

Life-Direction knowledge begins with an understanding that we are here and now. What is is. We can have a future based on our own decisions, but we cannot change the past. We must accept the reality of what is. As some say, "Love what is." Love what is even if you don't like it. You are part of what is. Loving what is means loving yourself. That doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't change your behaviors and emotions to improve yourself and improve what will be. But you must love who you are, even if you don't always like who you are.

There may not be any absolutes, but there are some ideas that keep proving their worth. We have to make Life-Direction choices based on what is currently known about our resources, past, experiences and the best scientific information available. In a world dominated by lasers, nuclear physics, super-string and other cosmological theories, we cannot continue to make life-direction choices based on a world view from the days of steam-engines or ox-pulled plows.
